Honda Rebel. It takes about 300 miles to outgrow a 250, don't get suckered into one. The Savage is lightweight, but has plenty of get up and go. It is also remarkably easy to work on. Good luck in your search. Just to give you an idea of the way that pricing goes across the country, I have priced NEW savages as low as 3500 at model year end in Kentucky and Tennessee. I bought my wife's two years old with 10000 miles for 2 grand in Nashville. I know that prices are higher in other parts of the country, but a couple grand savings might be worth a leisurely cross country ride on your new thumper!
